A Tacoma site that does not have to happen all at once

Most Tacoma businesses that call us are not replacing a bad agency site. They are on a drag-and-drop builder they outgrew, or a site a relative made in 2016 and nobody has touched since. That is a different starting point, and it deserves a different plan.

The Tacoma market

Spend it where it returns

There is no point pretending the budget conversation in Tacoma is the same as the one in Bellevue. It usually is not, and an agency that responds by quoting a Seattle number and waiting is wasting both parties' time.

What we do instead is split the work. There is almost always a small number of pages responsible for nearly all the revenue a website produces — the services people actually buy, the contact path, and whichever two or three pages already bring in search traffic. Those get built properly first. The rest follows when it has earned its place.

The upside of this market is real: the competitive bar in Tacoma search is lower than it is forty miles north. A genuinely well-built, fast, properly structured site is unusual enough here that it can move faster and further than the same site would in Seattle.

Who we build for here

What Tacoma's economy sends us

The city's industrial base and independent business scene shape the work.

  • Freight, logistics and warehousing

Businesses built around the port and the I-5 corridor, selling to other businesses. The website's job is credibility and a qualified enquiry — capability, capacity, certifications and a route to a quote — not traffic volume.

  • Construction and specialty trades

Commercial and residential contractors covering Pierce County and the south sound, competing on completed work and response time. Galleries, service-area content and a form that works on a phone in a truck.

  • Independent healthcare and dental practices

Practices competing against large regional health systems for the same patients, with a fraction of the marketing budget. The website is where that gap can actually be closed.

  • Food, drink and neighbourhood retail

The Stadium District, Proctor and the waterfront support a lot of owner-run hospitality and retail. Small sites, strong photography, and clear answers to hours, menu, parking and booking.

  • Nonprofits and social services

Organisations serving Pierce County with constrained budgets and genuine accessibility obligations. Clear information architecture matters more than visual ambition when people arrive needing help.

Starting from where you are

How a phased Tacoma build usually runs.

  1. Work out what is already earning

Before anything is designed we look at what your current site ranks for and which pages produce enquiries. Sometimes a page nobody internally thinks about is bringing in a third of the leads. That page gets protected, not redesigned on instinct.

  2. Move off the builder without losing it

Migration from Wix, Squarespace or GoDaddy is mostly a URL and redirect exercise. Every indexed address gets a destination before launch, metadata and structured data come across, and the content is rebuilt as proper, editable records rather than frozen page layouts.

  3. Build the pages that pay first

Home, the two or three services you actually want more of, contact, and whatever already ranks. Launch those. A smaller site that is genuinely good beats a large one that is half-finished and three months late.

  4. Add the rest as it earns its place

Additional service pages, area pages, case studies and content come in later phases, each one with a reason. You can stop at any point and still own something complete, which is not true of a single large build that stalls.

Tacoma questions

Asked by Tacoma businesses

Straight answers, including the ones that are not flattering to us.

Ask us something else

We are on Wix. Will moving hurt our search rankings?

Not if the migration is done properly, and temporarily if it is not. The work is a complete inventory of every indexed URL, a 301 redirect for each one to its new home, metadata and structured data carried across, and monitoring for a few weeks afterwards. Expect some movement in the first fortnight while the new pages are recrawled; expect it to recover and generally improve as the site gets faster.

What can a realistic Tacoma budget actually buy?

A focused, well-built site covering the pages that matter, rather than a twenty-page site built badly for the same money. We would rather deliver six excellent pages now and six more next quarter than stretch a budget across a site that is mediocre everywhere. We will give you the range before you commit and tell you plainly if what you want costs more than you want to spend.

Does it matter that you are in Seattle, not Tacoma?

For the work itself, no — it is a straightforward drive and we come down for kickoffs and launches. For search, also no: where your office is does not determine where your pages rank. What determines that is your own address, your Google Business Profile and the local substance on your site, all of which are yours and all of which we set up around Tacoma and Pierce County, not around us.

Can we take over editing the site ourselves afterwards?

That is the intent. We build on WordPress with named, structured fields so updating a service or adding a project is filling in a short form. We hand over a plain-language guide and a walkthrough session, and plenty of clients run their site themselves from there. A care plan is available if you would rather not.
