About us
Twelve years of building sites that have to earn their keep
Bizup LLC is a web design, development and search studio in Seattle. We build the thing a business is actually judged on — the site that loads before a prospect loses patience, answers the question they came with, and is still findable in a year.

Work that has sat alongside some of the biggest global brands
Organisations whose teams our clients sell to, supply or partner with — the standard their own sites are measured against.
Who we are
A small studio, deliberately kept small
Design, engineering and search sit in one room. Nobody hands a project to a department that was not in the first conversation, which is why decisions get made once and stay made.
Most of the sites we are asked to fix were not badly designed. They were assembled: a theme, a page builder, eleven plugins, and a structure nobody ever decided on. They look fine in a screenshot and lose on every measure that matters — speed, search, and whether a visitor can find the one thing they came for.
We work the other way round. Structure, search intent and the commercial outcome are settled before anything is drawn. Then the site is built to a written performance budget and handed over with the documentation to run it.
We are not the cheapest option, and for some projects we are not the right one. We will tell you when that is the case before you spend anything.
How we work
Six things we do differently, and why they matter
None of these are unusual ideas. They are just unusual to actually hold to once a deadline is close.
Structure before decoration
URL architecture, page inventory and search intent are decided before a single layout is drawn. Visual work laid over a weak structure has to be rebuilt; structure done first keeps earning as you add pages.
Performance is a contract term
Every build carries a written budget — under 1.8s LCP on mobile, under 150ms INP, CLS under 0.05, Lighthouse 95 or better. We measure against it before a page ships.
Accessibility by default, not as an upsell
Semantic markup, visible focus states, AA contrast and reduced-motion support are part of the build, not a line item. We sell accessibility remediation as a service, which means our own site has to stand up to the same standard.
We will talk you out of work
If a smaller build, a template, or simply fixing your current site serves you better, that is what we will say. The projects that go badly are almost always the ones someone should have declined.
One team, one room
Design, engineering and search are not handed between departments. Decisions get made once, which is why fewer things need to be undone later.
Launch is the halfway point
Redirect verification, indexation monitoring and 30/60/90-day reviews are part of the engagement. A handover followed by silence is how sites quietly stop working.
The team
The people who will do the work
You will talk to the people building your site, not to an account manager relaying messages.
Strategy and structure
Before anything is designed
Works out what the site has to do before anyone opens a design tool: who is buying, what they need to see, which pages exist and what each one is for. Writes the copy, or edits yours. This is also the role that will tell you when the honest answer is that you do not need a new website yet.
Design
How it looks and reads
Takes that structure and makes it legible: type, colour, hierarchy, and the dozen small decisions that separate a site from a template. Designs against the real constraints — the contrast ratios, the 320px width, the font budget — rather than designing first and discovering them later.
Engineering
Build, speed, accessibility
Builds it, and is accountable for the numbers: the Core Web Vitals budget in your contract, the WCAG 2.2 AA pass, the redirect map that protects your rankings on launch day. Hands over a site your team can run without calling us.
Search and measurement
After launch
Technical SEO, structured data, analytics and conversion tracking, configured before launch rather than bolted on after. Then reports on what actually happened — enquiries, not vanity rankings — for the window your tier includes.
Named profiles and photographs go here once we have them. We would rather show you three honest job descriptions than three stock portraits.
Where we are
Seattle, and the cities around it
The studio is at 550 Broadway in Seattle. We work with clients across the Puget Sound region and remotely across the United States — a project has never been easier because everyone shared a postcode, but being local does mean we can sit in a room when it helps.

What we will not promise
A website is an asset, not a guarantee
We can build you a site that is faster than your competitors, structured for the queries your buyers actually type, accessible, and properly indexed. That is the asset, and we will put the performance numbers in the contract.
What nobody can honestly sell you is a rank. Local search is decided mostly by your Google Business Profile, the volume and recency of your reviews, and who links to you — over six to twelve months, not six weeks. A good site makes all of that work; it does not replace any of it.
If an agency has told you otherwise with a number attached, ask them what happens to the fee when the number does not arrive.
Find out what it would actually cost
Tell us where you want to be in twelve months. You will get a straight answer on what the site has to do to get you there, what it costs, and how long it takes — within one working day, with no pitch deck.
