Pricing

What a website costs, and why it varies

Three tiers, written so you can work out roughly where you sit before you speak to anyone. Every project is quoted at a fixed price against a written scope — the number you approve is the number you pay.

Beyond the build

Ongoing and optional, priced separately

None of these are required for the site to work. They are listed so nothing arrives as a surprise six weeks after launch.

  • Care plan

    $95 / month

Updates, security patching, daily backups, uptime monitoring, small content changes.

  • SEO retainer

    $650 / month

Technical, on-page and content work, plus monthly reporting against agreed measures.

  • Copywriting

    $160 / page

Research, interviews and written pages mapped to the keyword plan.

  • Additional pages

    $195 / page

Extra pages built on an approved template, beyond the count in your tier.

  • Ad-hoc development

    $85 / hour

Work outside a plan or a signed scope, billed in 30-minute increments.

What changes the price

The same brief can cost twice as much, and here is why

Most of what moves a quote is decided by you, not by us. Knowing which levers exist is the difference between a budget conversation and a negotiation.

Pushes the cost up

  • Page count beyond the agreed template set — every unique layout is design and QA time.
  • Bespoke design per page rather than a reusable template system.
  • E-commerce catalogue size, variant complexity, and tax or shipping rules.
  • Integrations with CRM, ERP, booking, membership or payment systems.
  • Copywriting, photography, illustration or video produced by us.
  • Multilingual builds — each locale multiplies content, QA and SEO work.
  • Migrating a large legacy site where thousands of URLs need mapping and verifying.
  • Bringing existing legacy content up to WCAG 2.2 AA, which is remediation rather than build work.
  • Compressed timelines that need parallel work or weekend hours.

Brings the cost down

  • Working within a defined template set instead of a unique layout per page.
  • Supplying final copy and images on schedule — content delay is the single most common cause of a project running over.
  • One decision-maker with authority to sign off.
  • Keeping brand assets you already own rather than commissioning new ones.
  • Phasing the build: launch the pages that earn, add the rest once they are proven.
  • Choosing standard WordPress where it genuinely fits, rather than a custom front end for its own sake.
  • Consolidating feedback into the agreed rounds.

Not included

What a quote does not cover

Published here rather than discovered later. If any of these belong in your project, we itemise them in the quote so you see them before you sign.

  • Domain registration and hosting fees — billed to you directly by the provider, so you own them.
  • Third-party licences and subscriptions: premium plugins, themes, fonts, APIs.
  • Stock photography, video and font licences, unless itemised in your quote.
  • Paid advertising budget, and the management of it.
  • Copywriting and translation, unless itemised in your quote.
  • Ongoing care, hosting management or SEO after the included support window.
  • Legal review of your privacy policy, terms or accessibility statement — that belongs with your counsel.
  • Work outside the signed scope, which is quoted before it starts, never added silently.

How we quote

Fixed price against a written scope

We quote after discovery, not before it. A number produced from a two-line enquiry is either padded to cover what we do not know or it is wrong, and both of those end badly.

The quote names the pages, the templates, the integrations and the support window. It also names what is excluded. Once both parties sign it, the price is fixed: if we misjudged the effort, that is our problem, not an invoice you did not expect.

If you have a fixed budget, say so in the first call. We will tell you honestly what it buys, and we would rather scope down to fit a real number than hand you a proposal you have to turn down.

Pricing questions

The questions people ask before they ask for a quote

Ask about your project

How much does a website cost?

Our builds start at From $2,450 and most projects land in the $3,000 – $11,000 range. The spread is real, not evasive: a five-page site for one service and a forty-page site covering multiple locations are different pieces of work. After a discovery call we quote a fixed price against a written scope, so the number you approve is the number you pay.

Do you charge a fixed price or by the hour?

Fixed price against an agreed scope for project work, because it puts the risk of an estimate on us rather than you. Ongoing work is a monthly plan. Anything outside a scope or plan is $95 per hour, quoted and approved before it starts.

What deposit do you take, and when is the balance due?

40% to book the project and start discovery, then 40% to start, 30% at design sign-off, 30% before launch. Exact terms are in the proposal and the signed agreement.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes — three equal monthly instalments, interest free. Tell us your budget cycle at the quote stage and we will structure the milestones around it where we can.

What happens if the scope changes mid-project?

We quote the change, you approve it in writing, and only then does it go into the build. Nothing is added to an invoice that you have not already agreed to. Small adjustments inside an existing template are usually absorbed.

What is the cheapest way to work with you?

Phase it. Launch a tight set of pages that already does the selling, then add service, industry and location pages once the first set is earning. It spreads the cost and it means later pages are built on evidence rather than assumption. We will also tell you when a smaller build would serve you better than the one you asked for.

What will it cost me every month after launch?

At minimum, hosting and your domain, which you pay the provider directly. Beyond that it is optional: a care plan at $115 per month covers updates, backups, monitoring and small changes, and a search retainer at $850 per month covers ongoing SEO. Neither is required for the site to keep working.

Why are you more expensive than a template or a freelancer?

Sometimes we are not — and if a template genuinely fits what you need, we will say so. The difference you pay for is a site structured to rank, built to a measured performance budget, accessible by default, and supported by people who are still here in a year. If those are not things your project needs, a cheaper route is the right route.

Do you work to a fixed budget?

Yes. Tell us the number at the start and we will tell you honestly what it buys and what it does not. We would rather scope down to fit a real budget than produce a quote you have to decline.

Find out what it would actually cost

Tell us where you want to be in twelve months. You will get a straight answer on what the site has to do to get you there, what it costs, and how long it takes — within one working day, with no pitch deck.
